Founded in 1995, our mission is to provide high quality and personalized intellectual property law services for all of our clients, from small to large businesses, and educational and government entities. We help our clients to build and defend a comprehensive intellectual property portfolio, along with related contracts and business legal needs. We have 10 attorneys and 6 paralegals, most who have been with us for 10-28 years.

About the Position

We are seeking a Document Preparation Specialist with high accuracy, organizational skills, and who works well under pressure.  We want someone who plans to stay with us for many years.

 Our desired qualifications are listed below.

  • Capable of Word processing of lengthy and complicated documents, including patent applications and contracts.

  • Complex formatting including track changes (redlining) in Word.

  • Graphics requirements for documents and presentations.

  • Must have demonstrated attention to detail, capability of handling confidential information and keeping confidentiality.

  • Organizational skills, taking initiative, be a self-starter, be proactive, able to think independently, with excellent written and oral communication skills, and have a positive attitude.

  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

  • Minimum two years of experience.

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.

Job Duties

  • Assist attorneys and sometimes paralegal with daily tasks including revising patent applications, contracts, preparing engagement letters for clients, preparing and filling out spreadsheets, and drafting letters.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time, Albuquerque office location

Salary: $45,000+ per year

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift (includes half hour lunch break)

  • Monday to Friday

  • Overtime sometimes but rarely required
